The Refugee Service have appealed for food and toiletries to be given to the people who get just £5 per week and some food from donations to the Mary Thompson Fund.
St Clare’s has always donated food throughout the year but can we make a special effort to help these destitute people.
Just leave goods in the box at the back of the church

The term of office of the present Parish Council ends in July. The new Council begins in September.
Nomination forms are available on the table by the Catholic papers and should be returned to Kath Power. Each candidate needs to be nominated by two parishioners. The Council, which meets every two months and for a two-year term of office, has been a very useful forum for discussion and planning.

Mrs Fall writes,
Dear Parishioners,
On behalf of everyone at St Clare’s School I would like to thank you once again for your continuing support for our school. The ‘new’ building has now been opened four years and your generosity has been magnificent. Many of you have sponsored bricks and other forms of fundraising.
I would like to thank the many parishioners who continue to give so generously to our school – your support is greatly appreciated by all.
God bless you all.

On Friday the 57th Diocesan Pilgrimage sets off for Lourdes: the prayer intentions for the Pilgrimage are;
- that the Church may be an instrument of wisdom and a beacon of light in our World;
for sick pilgrims in Lourdes and all our sick that they may unite their sickness to the sufferings of Christ for the salvation of the World;
- that as Christians we may grow together and become more effective in spreading the Gospel;
- that our young people may respond generously this week to the needs of others and be better witnesses to the presence and action of Christ in their lives;
- that those discerning their vocation in life may see more clearly the opportunities for a life of joy and service with God and the Church as priests, deacons and religious;
- that we may see the path that God has chosen for us in life and have the strength to follow him faithfully until death.
