[ Saturday February 11, 2012; 6:00 pm; 6:00 pm; Sunday February 12, 2012; 9:30 am; 9:30 am; ] On the weekend of 11th/12th February there will be a visitor from the Holy Land with a selection of olive wood carvings which are sold in support of impoverished members of the Christian community in the land of Christ's birth.

Carmelite Easter Cards will be available soon. Once again we ask you to support the nuns at Darlington who design and produce the cards.

First Communion Prayer Partners

The children have each written a letter to their prayer partner. If you have a prayer partner please collect your letter from Kath Power. If you wish to write back, please give the letter in an envelope to Kath Power who will pass it on to the school. Thank you.

Many thanks to all the kind and generous people who have sent clothes, presents and food items in response to our newsletter appeal on behalf of an asylum seeker who is homeless with a family with no financial support. She has asked us to convey her gratitude and has promised to pray for us all at St.Clare’s.

She is sharing a house with friends and sleeps on a hard floor on a mattress. If anyone has a single bed they are wanting rid of, could you please email webmaster@stclare.org.uk

Also, thank you everyone who has left food items throughout the year.

The Feast of St Blaise

[ Friday February 3, 2012; 9:00 am; ] On Friday 3rd February there will be the traditional blessing of the throats at Mass in the morning to mark the feast of St Blaise.

I have had a brief meeting with pupils in Years 9 and 10 at Trinity College; preparation for this Sacrament will begin with a meeting on Tuesday 28th February at 7pm. This first meeting, to be held in St Clare’s Church, is for Parents and the Candidates for Confirmation.

Pupils who are in Years 9 or 10 are invited to join the programme.

The celebration of the Sacrament will take place on the 15th May, 6pm at St Francis’ Church.
