Harvest Thanksgiving

Today is Harvest Thanksgiving Day, an ancient festival which, along with many other feasts, succumbed to Henry VIII’s fall out with the Papacy. Later revived, the Victorians in particular loved Harvest Thanksgiving, perhaps because it reminded them of the rural life before the Industrial Revolution. Today we give thanks for God’s bounty.
