During the weeks of Lent there will be evening Masses at the Cathedral on Mondays and Thursdays at 6.30pm to provide an opportunity for those unable to take part in the celebration of morning Mass.

Lenten Soups

The tradition of shared soups on Friday in Lent continues this year.

Once again we are sharing with our fellow local Christians from St Margaret’s Church of England Church at The Oval and the Salvation Army whose Citadel is on Trimdon Avenue.

The Lenten soups will be as follows;

11th March – St Clare’s
18th March – Salvation Army
25th March – St Margaret’s
1st April – Salvation Army
8th April – St Margaret’s
15th April – St Clare’s

There will be service or Stations of the Cross before soup and all will commence at noon. All donations will go to CAFOD. All are welcome!

During Lent £1153.20 was raised for CAFOD through the Family Fast Day, the Lenten Boxes and the Friday Soup lunches.
