Offertory Envelopes

The offertory envelopes for 2012-13 are now available for collection.

(Please note your envelope will have a different number to previous years.)

Many thanks to those who support the work of the Church through their regular contributions.

On March 17th/18th Martin Russell will be visiting the Parish to talk about the Gift Aid scheme, and to hopefully recruit a couple of volunteers to look after the Gift Aid scheme in the parish.

During the forthcoming budget speech it is virtually certain that transitional rate relief will be abolished.

The effect on charities, such as ourselves, will be dramatic as the amount of repayment of tax available on qualifying Gift Aid donations will be reduced from 28.2% to 25% (a reduction of 11.35%). This shortfall can be redressed by parishioners who pay tax but have not completed a Gift Aid declaration.

By joining the Gift Aid scheme and extra 25% (tax rebate) can be gained by our parish on your donations.

A promotional leaflet is displayed on the notice board and question and answer sheets are available at the back of the church for interested Gift Aiders.

Gift Aid forms will be available in church on the weekend of 12/13th March 2011.

Church Collections Counting

If you would like to volunteer to help count the collections as part of a team, please contact Kath Power tel 821846. Counting takes place on Sunday morning after Mass and you would be part of a 5/6 week rota.

Our parish assessment for 2009, that is the money paid by the parish to the diocese, is £15,137 and our pension levy is £1,351. This is nearly £320 per week from our collection going immediately to fund diocesan expenditure.
