Parish Council Metting Re-arranged

[ Wednesday September 28, 2011; 7:00 pm; ] The Parish Council meeting arranged for Tuesday 13th September has been cancelled and re-arranged for Wednesday 28th September so that Bishop Terence will be able to attend.

The Strawberry Fair

Many thanks to all who contributed to and supported the Strawberry Fair last Sunday, whether by running a stall, buying raffle tickets, moving chairs and tables, or just coming along to enjoy the day.

£2331.22 was raised towards the new organ fund.

Many thanks to Mr Ron Darby and the Blue Bell Hotel staff plus all who supported the plant and cake stalls there last weekend. Thanks also those who bought plants after Masses last weekend.

Gift Aid

During the forthcoming budget speech it is virtually certain that transitional rate relief will be abolished.

The effect on charities, such as ourselves, will be dramatic as the amount of repayment of tax available on qualifying Gift Aid donations will be reduced from 28.2% to 25% (a reduction of 11.35%). This shortfall can be redressed by parishioners who pay tax but have not completed a Gift Aid declaration.

By joining the Gift Aid scheme and extra 25% (tax rebate) can be gained by our parish on your donations.

A promotional leaflet is displayed on the notice board and question and answer sheets are available at the back of the church for interested Gift Aiders.

Gift Aid forms will be available in church on the weekend of 12/13th March 2011.

Harrogate Flower Show

The Harrogate Spring Flower Show 2011 takes place from Thursday 14th April until Sunday 17th April.

A coach has been booked for Saturday 16th April. This will cost only £20 per person and includes reduced ticket price £13 (instead of £15) and coach £7.

Pantomime Time!

On Sunday 19th December 2010 (2pm) we will be going to see ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.

We will be able to take advantage of reduced prices of £10.50 if we have enough bookings.

Christmas Dinner – an update

Our parish Christmas dinner is fast approaching.

It will be on Friday 26th November, 7pm for 7.30 at the Blue Bell Hotel. Only £10 per person.

Please return menus and money to Maureen Dowd (01642 291947) as soon as possible.

If you have note yet signed up for the Christmas dinner it is not yet too late. Contact Maureen a.s.a.p.

Maureen will step down as our fundraising organiser after the Christmas Dinner and would like to thank everyone for their support over the years.
