Craft group supports local Asylum Seekers

St. Clare’s Friday Craft Group has very kindly given a £100 donation to Asylum Seekers. The money has been shared between the Mary Thompson Fund, which gives £5 and a bag of food each week to people who do not get any Government help, and Justice First, which gives help and support to Asylum Seekers in our area. Help urgently needed for young mum

Help is urgently sought for a young, pregnant Congolese woman and her 18 month old son. This lady is not receiving any financial support and needs clothes for her son and baby clothes as well as the usual things a baby needs. She has nothing and is staying with a friend. The Traidcraft shop is now open in Dundas Arcade, Middlesbrough, in the vacant Yorkshire Linen shop. Please have a look round it when you are in town. Goods for Asylum Seekers

Imperishable food and toiletries may be placed in the box in the church porch, and will be taken to Sylvan House to be distributed to the Asylum Seekers who have no support. Other goods and clothes can be taken to the Avenue Methodist Church (side door) any Wednesday morning after 10.00am. Please do not leave these in the church.
