March 21 – 25 sees the MYMission Team working closely with our friends at Trinity Catholic College in Middlesbrough.

As the Mission takes place in the season of Lent we will be contemplating what it means to make a sacrifice. Of course, there is no better example of sacrifice than the one that Jesus himself made on the Cross. So we will be looking forward to Easter and seeing what the Passion of Our Lord can teach us.

We cannot contemplate the Cross of Jesus alone. It can only really be understood in the light of the last supper, and so we will spend time exploring what the Eucharist means to us. Part of our plans for the Mission include a celebration of the Eucharist for the whole school.

There will be a retiring collection after Masses this weekend for the work of the Middlesbrough Diocesan Youth Mission Team.

The Team is a creative, dynamic and initiative response to the needs of young people and the Church today.

They will work with well over 9000 young in the diocese this year. These young people come from a variety of places with mixed social and economic backgrounds.

Set up by Bishop Terry Drainey the Mission Team aims to preach the Good News of the Kingdom of God to young people so that they might know true freedom in relationship with Jesus Christ and live out that freedom as an active member of the Church community.

You can support the Mission Team in many ways, through prayer and volunteering time and also by making a gift.
