Our Christmas Fair – Many Thanks!

Thank you to all who helped organise and support the Christmas Fair last weekend. £2161.47 was raised on the day and a further £295 is promised by Barclays Matched Funding Community Scheme.

The Organ Fund now stands at £7233.19; many thanks for your continued generosity.

The cabinets for the new speakers for the organ have now been fitted in the Choir Loft and it is hoped that the new organ will be installed in time for Christmas.

St Clare’s Parish Christmas Fair will be on Saturday 12th November at St Margaret’s Church Hall, The Oval, 10am until 12 noon.

Once again we are asking if you can generously give any donations or tombola and raffle prizes tomake this a very successful event.

[ Thursday August 11, 2011; 7:00 pm; ] There will be a carvery at the Blue Bell on the feast of St Clare, 11th August, 7 for 7.30pm. There is a list at the back of the church. The day is also the first anniversary for Fr Tony Barry, our first Parish Priest. Please remember him in your prayers.

The Strawberry Fair

Many thanks to all who contributed to and supported the Strawberry Fair last Sunday, whether by running a stall, buying raffle tickets, moving chairs and tables, or just coming along to enjoy the day.

£2331.22 was raised towards the new organ fund.

Christmas Dinner – an update

Our parish Christmas dinner is fast approaching.

It will be on Friday 26th November, 7pm for 7.30 at the Blue Bell Hotel. Only £10 per person.

Please return menus and money to Maureen Dowd (01642 291947) as soon as possible.

If you have note yet signed up for the Christmas dinner it is not yet too late. Contact Maureen a.s.a.p.

Maureen will step down as our fundraising organiser after the Christmas Dinner and would like to thank everyone for their support over the years.

St Clare’s footballers win excellence award

The young footballers of St Clare’s School have recently won The Mike McCullagh Memorial Cup, which is awarded for ‘excellence‘ in respect of entry to, and participation in, the annual Diocesan schools football tournament, the ‘Catholic Primary Schools Cup’ which is organised by Teesport Chaplain Mr Tony McAvoy.

The Mike McCullagh Memorial Cup was presented by Mr Laurie Savage of the organising committee during a school assembly at St Clare’s, much to the delight of the children, Mrs Sue Fall, the Headteacher, and Mrs Louise Pennick, the Football Co-ordinator.

Well done to all involved.
