A Year of Welcome Back
A small group of parishioners attended a day organised by the Middlesbrough Diocesan Adult Formation department to share a nationwide initiative to seek out fellow Catholics who have left the Church or just drifted away from attendance at Sunday Mass.
This group have now discussed the content of the day and have drawn up a programme of events for the next few months and would like to invite more parishioners to be part of this parish-based venture.
Our next meeting will be in the Parish Room on Friday 15th August, after 9am Mass.
September Sunday Mass
Invitations sent to First Holy Communion families, recently confirmed youngsters, and families of the recently baptised to attend our first Family Mass of the new academic year.
October 12th
The church is to remain open after Sunday Mass to allow everyone and anyone to return to light a candle, have a cup of tea, reconnect with a visit to our church and Our Lady.
November 3rd
On Monday night of All Souls’ Day a special 7pm Mass for everybody, with invitations to all families who have celebrated a funeral with us over the last two years.
December.
A monthly prayer hour, decoration of the Christmas tree and promotion of our Christmas Masses with the theme ‘Come Home for Christmas’.
We welcome more ideas and members to our ‘Welcome Back’ group.
