Fr Tony was a much-loved priest with a passion for social justice and an immense love and knowledge of the countryside, of history and above all of people. He was deeply commited to ecumenism and became the first Roman Catholic priest to preach in York Minster since the Reformation.

In his memory the first Anthony Storey Memorial Lecture will take place on Saturday 17th May, 11am at the Lindsay Suite, Staff House, University of Hull, Cottingham Road, Hull, HU6 7RX.
The guest speaker will be Paul Vallely, Associate Editor of ‘The Independent’, and former Chair of Traidcraft and Progressio. Paul is a past pupil of St Francis’ School, Hull. The title of his lecture is ‘How to effect real change in the real world – the G8, Geldof and the grassroots’

The Lecture is sponsored by the Justice and Peace Commission, the first meeting will be held in Hull. It will be chaired by Professor Eamon Duffy, Professor of the History of Christianity, Magdalene College, Cambridge.
